JAS Successfully Handled The Arrival of Covid-19 Vaccine in Indonesia

As many as 11 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from Sinovac, China, arrived at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal, Tangerang, Banten, Tuesday afternoon (2/2/2020) using a Singapore Airlines.

JAS Airport Services as a ground handling service provider for Singapore Airlines has successfully handled the envirotainer unloading process. JAS has served Singapore Airlines ground and cargo handling for more than 30 years.

“The Covid-19 vaccine is our national interest. For this reason, we, as ground handlers, are doing our best to provide the best service for the Indonesian nation and airline customers,” said Adji Gunawan, CEO of JAS Airport Services.

With regard to pharmaceutical products as a whole, JAS is known to have begun to identify a number of additional cold chain facilities and is currently following procedures to obtain IATA CEIV Pharma certification.

IATA issued CEIV Pharma certification to help ground handling companies and the entire air cargo supply chain meet the industry’s needs for higher safety, security, compliance and efficiency. The IATA CEIV Pharma certification is essential to ensure the integrity of pharmaceutical products throughout the supply chain.

So that in the future JAS will become the first Cargo Terminal Operator [CTO] in Indonesia to get IATA CEIV Pharma certification. The goal is that in addition to compliance with international regulations and standards, JAS will be recognized globally and declared ready to handle pharmaceutical products consistently.

The IATA CEIV Pharma validation is expected to be completed in March 2021. But beyond that, JAS has had the GDP [Good Distribution Practices] certification from WHO since 2014.
