Denpasar, June 26, 2024 – Today marks a significant milestone in the aviation industry as Etihad Airways inaugurates its first flight from Abu Dhabi to Denpasar, utilizing the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner. The inaugural flight, EY 476, landed safely at 11:45 WITA, marking the beginning of a new era in air travel between the two cities. Etihad Airways will now operate four flights a week to Denpasar.
The arrival of the first flight was celebrated with a grand ceremony at the airport. The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water salute, a tribute to its maiden voyage to Denpasar. Following this, the VVIP guests were warmly received with flower arrangements and a traditional welcome dance, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Bali. The celebration continued with a cake-cutting ceremony and a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
Key figures present at this inaugural event included Mr. Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, Mr. Handy, General Manager of Angkasa Pura 1, and Mr. Adji Gunawan, CEO of PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS).
Mr. Adji Gunawan expressed his enthusiasm and pride, stating, “We, PT JAS, as the ground handling agent, are very proud and very happy to be part of this aviation history.
